Indian Summer

August 17, 2012

Our summer was amazing — swimming, friends, birthdays, and a 2 week all-American road trip covering 3300 miles!!  Our summer was also beyond hot … oh my word it was hot.  We are in a bit of a reprieve this week from the over 100 degree temps the mid-west experienced for the end of June, all of July and first part of August, which I’m so grateful for.  The kids are back in school and the preschooler and I are patiently awaiting the start of preschool by touring all of the local parks … and I am loving taking the girl to the park when the temps are in the 70s!  Ahhh, heaven.

I’m slowly getting back into sewing again.  I did tons at the beginning of the summer during my Netflix ‘The Guardian’ obsession, but with the 4th, followed by four birthdays, a 2 week road trip and the start of school … well the poor sewing machine hasn’t seen much action.  Eeek!   I’ve listed lots of really fun and whimsical Halloween pillowcases in the shop.  My friend Kitty, featured one of my favorites in this great collection of items from local artists and craftsman.   Isn’t it beautiful!

Well THANK YOU, Kathleen, for featuring my Treasury AND adding tags I hadn’t thought of!
Indian Summer is my favorite, bittersweet, season.
Love your program of touring all the parks with your daughter! All those field trips are over for me.
