Summer Sewing

June 15, 2012

Thanks to the discovery of all three seasons of The Guardian on Netflix instant view my laptop and I have been spending a lot of time in the studio.  It’s felt so good to spend so much time with my sewing machine… and a great story!

Here’s one of the projects I finished up today.  A large 41″ square blanket made of flannel and ultra soft minkee fleece trimmed with custom, handmade bias trim.

In our family they are lovingly referred to as nuzzies – the blanket of all blankets.  It’s  magic.  It solves all troubles, heals all hurts, calms all fears.  The kindergartner’s nuzzie is still going strong after nearly 6 years of solid use; best baby to toddler to little kid blanket ever. (The 3rd grader’s nuzzie is still in use, but you didn’t hear that from me.)
