Homemade Pizza

Homemade pizza is by far one of the families favorite dinners, including mine.  When I need a quick, easy dinner, this is one of my staples.  Early on in my homemade pizza making life, I quickly learned that in the time it would take to run to the store to purchase a bake at home pizza, I could make this one at a fraction of the cost, and a fraction of the calories.  Turn it into a family activity by letting the kids make their own personal pizzas!

Quick Pizza Dough

Makes enough dough for one large pizza.

1 pkg. quick rise dry yeast (aka 2-1/4 teaspoons)
1 cup lukewarm water
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon honey
1 cup wheat flour
1-1/2 cups white flour
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)

Mix yeast in water in glass bowl.  Add other ingredients.  Mix well by hand.  Let sit in bowl 5-10 minutes (or longer if you have time), cover with towel.  Flatten on greased pan.  Add your favorite toppings.  Bake at 450F for 10-12 minutes.
